Mom

Mom you lived such a simple life, you were a caring compassionate, vibrant woman. You asked nothing of any of us but gave your heart and soul. You worked hard throughout your lifetime to give us the opportunity to make our own decisions and choose our paths in life. After our dad passed it strengthened your commitment to keep his American Indian heritage alive by keeping us active in the Indian community.

You had many accomplishments, throughout life. Some of these came about through the hard work and devotion you gave as a member of the Three Rivers American Indian Center, where you were a board member, a founding member and head fry bread cook and supervisor for over 25 years. This would eventually become your passion in life outside of raising us.

You loved every one of us equally but differently as you recognized our individuality. You showed your support by listening and observing, but never criticized. You were proud of each of our talents and accomplishments. You were more worried about some then others, you were terribly worried that you had become a burden to us but you never complained, no matter how sick or painful life became during your illness.
You were a funny woman with a zest for humor; you were Mee Maw to all
of your grandchildren who you loved dearly.

You worried about Mitzie, worried that she had no life outside of work and caring for you.

You believed Billy was too bossy, making you take vitamins, drink water and take walks while ensuring that you didn't get lost in the cookie jar, whiledoing so.

You believe Janet was outspoken but was a good person.

Treaty was a rebel, who ended up with a great life and a wonderful family.

You were incredibly proud of Pam's hard work and achievements.

Bernie was just the baby that you couldn't believe had grown so tall.

You worried that Mike was too quiet and took too long between visits.

You believed I was at times mean as far as telling my wife to watch me but treatme good.

You beamed when talking about your family, and mother so did we. You were the glue that held the family together you were a mother caring always sharing, you were never a burden; you gave us encouragement, taught us values, morals, and respect.

Thank you Mother, for being our mom that God had given to us.

If flowers grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for
me t
hen place them in my mother's arms and tell her they're from me.

Tell her that I love and miss her and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

I love you mom.
